Obituary for Frank Ligori

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Ligori. Beloved husband for 52 years of Maria (nee Leonetti). Loving father of Sue Paniccia and her husband Renato and Joe and his wife Laura. He was an adored Nonno who spent special time with each of his grandchildren Gabriella, Matteo and Christian. Dear brother of Fred and Norina Ligori, Lina Rossi, Anna and Alfredo Vulcano, Pat and the late Gabe Petrella (1999), Joanne and Kevin Allen. Brother-in-law of Tina and Luigi Tavernese. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe (1990) and Santina Ligori (2009), and mother-in-law Filomena Leonetti (2010). Nephew to Angelina Berardi, Antonia Berardi, Anna Berardi and Filippo Berardi. His warm laugh will be sadly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, and their children.

Born in Pofi, Italy, Frank, along with his Mom and 3 siblings, immigrated to Canada in 1956 to join their father who had arrived two years earlier to establish a home for the family. Frank was a former employee of Toyota, Massey-Ferguson, and Northway Mercury. He enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, spending time with friends, tending to his beautiful garden and making wine.

Special thanks to his brother Fred, sisters Lina, Anna, Pat and Joanne and his friends Luigi Imola and Dave Nicolle who always put a smile on Dad’s face when they visited. Dad’s door was always open and he always looked forward to visits from family and friends.

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Hankinson House Hospice, especially Tara, Eunie, Shannon and Lisa, who cared for Dad – and thank you to the nurses and PSW support on the 8th floor of BGH including – Dorothy, Mike, Sue and Deanna.
