The family announces with great sadness the passing of “Benny” at the Brantford General Hospital in his 91st year. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Doreen "Dode" and his children Mark (Nancy) of Kingston, Lynn (Peter) Collier of Brantford, Kathryn Benson of Brantford and Carol (Michael) Benson – Hitch of Sydney Australia. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Adrien Benson, Emma Benson (Zakary), Dana (Gary) Maddock, Laura Collier (Chad), Adam (Katie) Collier, Corinne Shillington (Rob), Kelly Shillington (Richard), Jaime Shillington, Graham Hitch, Anna Hitch (Sam) and by his great-grandsons Reid Maddock, Brycen Maddock and Brooks Collier. He is fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Karen Parent. He is predeceased by his parents Harold and Margaret “Peggy”. Benny was employed as a Ford Motor Company Parts Manager for many years. As a young man, he was very active in hockey, baseball and softball. He was a member of the Brantford Air Force Club, the Dunsdon Legion Branch 461 and Central Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed his many outings with his golfing buddies. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME 55 Charing Cross st. Brantford, on Thursday, January 18th 2018 from 11:00a.m until the time of service in the Funeral Chapel at 1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Stedman Community Hospice are greatly appreciated.
