FAWCETT, Howard Robert – It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the peaceful death of Howard on Thursday, November 30th in his 90th year at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre. Beloved husband of 66 years to Edythe (nee Dufton). Loving father of Diane Todd, Cheryl Moore (John Grover), Nancy Collins (Jamie), and Bobby (partner, Jaime). Howard was adored by his seven grandchildren Amy, Mike, Krista, Michelle, Rebecca, Laura and Jessica, and was blessed with 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister, Dorothy (Hamilton). Howard lived his entire life on the Fawcett family farm south of Brantford. Never one to sit idle, he taught numerous industrial shop classes at Mohawk College and after hours and weekends was always available to repair friends’ and neighbors’ automobiles, tractors and combines. His grandchildren treasured his gentle and respectful nature, and the interest he showed in each of their lives. Howard had a wonderful voice and loved to sing hymns and his old favorites. He gave comfort and care to the many animals that also called the farm Home. The family would like to recognize the special care Howard received at both the Lifecare Centre and Stedman Community Hospice. Friends and family will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Service in the chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Farringdon Burial Ground, Brantford. If you wish, donations in his name may be made to the Burtch Baptist Church or St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre/Stedman Community Hospice.
