The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Grade 8: King George 1964/65

I cannot bring myself to consider calling “Mr. Brubacher” Jerry. To me, it is “Mr. Brubacher.” The year was 1964/65 at King George Senior Public School and I remember:

·         Him reading to us. Jack London’s Call of the Wild comes vividly to mind.

·         Art days when Jim, Doug and myself prepared the art materials in advance.

·         The terror of my valedictory address. Mr. Brubacher’s calming presence helped me through it.

Fifty-two years later Mr. Brubacher remains the most influential teacher I ever had.
