Les (Harry Leslie) Scott
Died as he lived, with quiet dignity surrounded by family on Monday, October 23, 2017 in his 93rd year. Devoted best friend and husband of 61 years of Wanda (October 23, 2008). Cherishing memories of Dad are Cheryl & Dave Oattes and Robin Leone & Abe Klynstra. Lovingly remembering Grandpa are Jeremy and Ryan (Andrea) Oattes and Gregory ( Michelle), Matthew and Mark Leone. Les had welcomed to his family, with great joy, the addition of great grandchildren Amelia & Lachlan Oattes and Hannah, Connor, & Aria Leone who will be inspired to carry on the legacy of kindness and giving of their wonderful Great Grandpa.

Born April 13, 1925 to Harry and Edith Scott, Les grew up in Norwich, Ontario with 5 siblings ( predeceasing him were Mary, Marguerite, Bill, Ernie , Phyllis and their spouses). Fondly remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Les proudly served in World War II in the Lincoln & Wellington Regiment fighting on the front lines in Holland and Belgium, and following the war serving in the Occupation Army in Germany. Rmembrance Day was always honoured with deep contemplation and private memories. “ Another soldier died today”. Upon his return to Canada, Dad worked for Bell Canada for 36 years until his retirement in 1982.

Les devoted his life to volunteering to help others and to his family. Dad will be remembered as a gentleman and a gentle man and we will hold him forever in our hearts. Please join his family to honour his life on Friday, October 27th at Dennis Toll Funeral Home , 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford. Visitation from noon to the time of service at 1 pm. Cremation to follow. Donations to Brantwood Foundation or Harmony United Church appreciated.

Les and Wanda spent 22 winters in Florida , travelled , camped and golfed together for 61 years. They will be interred together at the Norwich Gore Cemetery at a later date. Together again “ At Last”.
