It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of J.C. (James Courtland) Parkins on June 3, 2017 at the early age of 46. J.C. was the beloved son of Nancy and Bernie Parkins and the delightful little brother of Laura Parkins Kell. He was a brother-in-law to John Kell and a doting uncle to Hunter, Arden, and Jordan Kell. He was the adored nephew of Gloria and Bob Davis, and Wayne and Carol Parkins. He will also be missed by his Community Living Family who have provided care for him since 1986. We wish to thank all of you who came in his last days to wish him a safe journey. In honouring J.C.’s generous spirit and love of life, his family has elected to donate his organs in the hope that his incredible joy will be shared with others. J.C. had a large wide-reaching network of friends who enriched his life and ours and for that we will be eternally grateful. J.C. was not only a wonderful family member but was also a dear friend, a constant source of amusement, and a teacher to many. He loved food, bowling, swimming, gardening, musicals and riding horses. His constant smile will be forever etched in our minds and on our hearts. We would also like to thank Dr. J. Hsiao, staff at the Critical Care Unit at the BGH, Brantford Community Living and our friend Father Phil Cook.
Family and friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday June 7th, 2017 for visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
