It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Melody Ann Van Bradt, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Stedman Community Hospice at the age of 56 years. Beloved wife and best friend of 35 years to Gary. Loving and caring mom of Kyle (Jennifer) and Amanda. Proud grandma of Christian. Melody will also be missed by her mother Mary Duke, her sister Linda Watson, sisters-in-law Brenda Archer, Bonnie Stigter (Aris), Katie Van Bradt, Linda LaCourse (Paul), brother-in-law Larry Van Bradt (Lana), and many extended family and friends. Predeceased by her father Dmitro (Mac) Onyschuk, her step-father John Duke and her brothers-in-law Paul Archer and Donald Van Bradt. Melody cherished spending time with her grandson Christian. Melody worked for 25 years at the Grand Erie District School Board. A special thanks to the wonderful nurses and PSW’s at the Stedman Community Hospice for all of their care and support. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 181 King Street, Burford on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment Oakhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stedman Community Hospice.
