Obituary for Albert Pekrul

Albert Pekrul
PEKRUL, Albert. Peacefully into the arms of the Lord with family at his side at the
Niagara Gardens Retirement Manor on Friday, February 17, 2017 in his 88th year.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Eva (2015). Adored father of Karen Springle
(Brian) of St. Catharines and Harvey Pekrul (Elaine) of Ancaster. Loving Opa to
Nicole , Barry , Justin (Melissa) and Jordan (Brittany). Elder brother to Ron Pekrul
(Jill), Benita Riedke and Wanda Elit (Art). Predeceased by his sister Helene Richter.

Albert was a strong and determined individual who’s commitment to his family
could never be questioned. His life was a testament to his strong faith in God and
love for the Lord. Albert immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1947 settling in
Port Colborne. He and Eva met on their journey from Germany and were married in
1951. Albert was employed at the Sunbeam Shoe Company until he moved his
family to Brantford in 1965 where he began his second career as an Industrial
Engineer at the Massey Ferguson Foundry. Albert was well suited to this role as he
was always one to find the most efficient way to get a job done. Albert was always
busy even in retirement. He kept busy with his love for wine making, his rental units
and even started a rag supply business that provided him with many opportunities
to continue to interact with the community. He continued to stay busy when he
moved to St. Catharines where he worked diligently with Karen to make cloth goods
for shipment overseas to people in need.
Family and friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55
Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Service in the
chapel on Wednesday, February 22 nd , 2017 at 11 am. Interment Mount Hope
Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice appreciated.
