Devoted and loving wife and best friend of David Bailey for 42 years, cherished mother of Erica Jackson (Rob) Woodstock, and Mark Bailey (Val) Ottawa, and much loved “Nana” of Austin and Jordyn Jackson, and Violet and Landon Bailey. Beloved daughter of Irene Bernacki and the late Walter Bernacki, step-daughter of Paul Reeve-Newson, and loving sister of Ed Bernacki of Brantford. She will be greatly missed by Linda and Bernie Klein, Don and Elaine Bailey, nieces, nephews, cousins, Texas friends, Smokey Hollow friends, some former students and other friends. Genni was born and raised in Brantford. She graduated from BCI where she received: the Headmaster’s Trophy, the Award of Merit, and the Best Senior Girl Athlete Award. She was an Ontario Scholar. She graduated from Lakehead University in 1975 with a B.Sc. (Chemistry) and played one year of Varsity Volleyball there. In 1996 Genni received the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence in Science, Technology & Mathematics. Only 78 awards were given out across Canada. She coached various sports in elementary schools. From 2001-2005 she coached high school Badminton teams at PJC.
