Obituary for Joseph Holota

Joseph  Holota
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joe at the Brantford General Hospital in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (Jackie) Holota 2004 and special companion of Hilda 2014. Survived by his two daughters Chris Weaver (Carl) and Corey Lockington (Jamie). Forever remembered by his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mikaila, Kaiden, Morgan and Luke. Joe said he never knew his grandparents and therefore, he wanted to be the best grandparent possible. Joe was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Susan Dudek, who immigrated to Canada from Poland in the 1920’s, and his brothers, Stephen, August, Walter and Edward. Joe was employed by Union Gas Limited for 32 years and was presented at retirement with an Honourary Lifetime Membership to the Brantford Home Builders Association for 25 years of support. He served on the Brantford Committee of Adjustment, and was the Brantford Parks and Recreation Commission Chairman in 1968. Joe initiated and helped with the creation of an outdoor skating rink at James Hillier School which is still operational today. He coached minor baseball and Sunday school hockey. Joe is an Original member of Northridge Golf Club since 1957, and had the distinction of Senior Club Champion 1984-1985 and two holes in one. He was Club Champion at the Brant Curling Club in 1980. Joe played hockey on three Ontario Hockey Association Championship teams in 1951, 1952, 1955. Joe was a Member of Brantford Probus since 2003. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Saturday, November 26th, from 1 – 3 p.m. at DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford. Private interment will be held at Eternal Peace Gardens, Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Autistic Society of Ontario would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place.
