Obituary for Giovanni Mario Capaldi

CAPALDI, Giovanni Mario – it is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Giovanni, at the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, October 27th, 2016, at the age of 86. Beloved husband for 65 years to Antonietta Capaldi. Devoted and dearly loved father of Sylvia (Carmine) Petrella, Joseph (Kelly) Capaldi, John (Darlene) Capaldi and MaryAnn (Brett) Ramey. Proud grandpa and papa to Christina (Len) Jones, Michael Petrella (Robyn), Jason (Natalka) Petrella, Nick & Dan Capaldi, Colin & Jonathan Capaldi and Braydin & Rashell Ramey. Special great-grandfather to the late Emma Victoria, Nolen, Ethan, Benjamin, Marcus and Nico. Brother of Vince (Gail) Capaldi and the late Tony (Donna) Capaldi. Fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law Sabatino (Vittoria) Spadorcia and Salvatore (Judy) Spadorcia and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Sylvia Capaldi and by his in-laws Salvatore and Loreta Spadorcia. Giovanni was a longtime employee of Forbes Bros., a founding member of the Rossini Lodge and an avid bowler. He will be deeply missed. Family and friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street, Brantford on Monday October 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
