The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Katherine O'Hara can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: James Dobson
Condolence: This is honestly just devastating to hear; Kate was such a force in the lives of her students, and what's more a friend to many a young person at a time when life is tumultuous, and understanding is in short supply. She was an inspiration, a champion, and a creative, warm and loving person. The word teacher falls short when you talk about what a giant Kate was in not just educating us, but helping us to find ourselves and all that life has to offer. She will be dearly missed, and my thoughts go out to Devin and Alana.

Condolence: Please accept my sincerest sympathy! With her new art classroom just down the hall from my room, Kate and I had many chats over the past year. She will be remembered as a passionate, wickedly humorous, and skilled teacher by staff and students at PJ. Rest in peace!

Condolence: Our condolences for the O'Hara family. Kate came into our lives for a short period of time. Our son connected with Kate through the City of Brantford and he became her "SnowBuddy". Before/after her surgery while she was recuperating our son shoveled her driveway when needed and cut her grass in the summer. Kate was always so kind, generous and engaged us in conversation about her family, teaching, our love for the water and kayaking and her pets. It was a joy to see her in the window with a smile on her face. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Condolence: My sincerest condolences. She was one of my teachers who I can truly say without any sense of hyperbole changed my life. Great person, generous with her time, cared for and believed in her students and helped them (me) believe in themselves too. She will be fondly remembered and I will always be grateful for knowing her.

Condolence: Kate, I love you more than words can describe. You were there for us whenever we needed you, and even when we didn't. You were everything we could ever ask for in a teacher. You taught me lessons about life and about myself that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. You mean more to me than you could ever possibly know. I will miss you. Goodbye Mom.
